It’s Almost Here!

Registration for the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games Open is live.  That means the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games season is about to begin.  For those of us who love the sport of CrossFit, this is our regular season, playoffs, and Superbowl all taking place from the last Friday of February through the end of July.  Those who want to qualify for the CrossFit Games must first qualify from the CrossFit Games Open.  For the rest of us, this is a chance to see how our fitness stacks up against people from AROUND THE WORLD.

The CrossFit Games Open is a 5 week international competition that everyone can do.  Each week, CrossFit releases a new workout that participants must complete by the following Monday.  Participants then submit scores to the CrossFit Games Website where we, as a registered affiliate, validate the scores.  You can when filter your scores by name, region, age, state, etc. to see how you stack up against your peers.

As a yearly tradition, we will be participating at Industrial Athletics.  Every Friday during the Open, the WOD will be the released Open WOD for that week.  Every class will have a chance to do it and participants who register will have a chance to have their scores validated.  In years past, the 5:30pm class has been the big class with spectators, cheering, videos, and more.  This year, we will start at 4:30pm.  Those who want to come in the evenings, help judge/validate scores, help cheer on members, and run heats will start at 4:30pm.

Don’t think you are good enough to participate and record your score?  Just like we offer scaling in our regular WODs, CrossFit scales the Open WODs to include everyone as well.

Make sure you register today.  We can’t wait for February 26th.
