As many of you know, our very own Diane Dennis has taken on a 100,000 meter rowing challenge for charity. She is rowing 100,000 meters in 30 days and is attempting to raise a penny per meter, or $1,000! Her row benefits Firefly Arts, a small, local autism program that is helping families across the Pittsburgh area. Diane is now in the final week of her challenge and has rowed 87,375 meters and collected $720 in donations. Please join her this Sunday (April 27) at Open Gym as she crosses the 100,000 meter finish line! She will row those last meters sometime between 9:30 and 10:00 am and would love to see everyone there to cheer her on. And to celebrate, she will serve breakfast “hors d’oeuvres” (her famous bacon rolls, eggs and pancakes) after the row. For more information about her fundraising effort and to donate, click here.
Update: 92,399 as of today. See you Sunday for 100,000 meters and some bacon rolls!
