Staying active and working out regularly is vitally important to health and overall wellness, but just as essential is a healthy diet. You can workout all you want, but if you are making poor food choices you are just sabotaging all the work you’re putting in at the gym.
To start 2014 out on the right foot we are going to have a 30-day Paleo Nutrition Challenge starting on January 13. But this challenge will go beyond just eating better food, we’re going to make it interesting…..
The “challenge” part of this comes in the form of a competition. You’ll be competing against yourself and against your fellow athletes for a CASH PRIZE. The competition will be based on a points system that rewards good choices and punishes bad ones.
Here are the details:
Come to Open Gym on Sunday, January 5 from 9am to 11am, or Sunday January 12 from 9am to 11am, to weigh in and have your measurements taken. (This will be done in private and all information will be kept confidential.) If you can’t make it in either Sunday, contact a coach to schedule a weigh in during the week.
There will be an informational session on Sunday January 12 after Open Gym. There, you’ll get the rules of the challenge, an overview of what paleo eating is, recipes you can use in the upcoming weeks, as well as a list of resources. We will also be doing a benchmark WOD before the challenge begins and after it’s over to see how your performance is affected by cleaner eating habits.
There is a $10 buy in charge and all monies are given to the winner who will be crowned after 30 days.
If you have any questions, contact one of the coaches or Jill (Jill@FirstComesHealth.com) for more information.
