Our Athlete of the Month for July is one of the friendliest athletes that you will ever meet. She is not only active inside the gym, but enjoys working hard outside as well. She loves playing pickle ball with her friends on a sunny day. Typically you can find her in the 7:15am class crushing some olympic lifts! The Athlete of the Month for July is:

Liz Caruso

1. Where are you from originally?
– Upstate New York 

2. If not from Pittsburgh, what brought you to Pittsburgh? 
– The first time- college. The second time- Dave’s family.

3. Where do you work?
– From home. I work for GXM Consulting- it’s a government contracting firm based in Arlington, VA.

4. What is your favorite hobby?
– Doing yard work to podcasts/audiobooks. AKA: chorin’

5. How did you discover CrossFit?
– A classmate’s project. We had to write an assessment of different training methodologies. A few years later we moved next to CFNE and I saw it in action.

6. When did you start CrossFit?
– 2011ish

7. Why did you start CrossFit?
I missed doing team strength and conditioning- CrossFit seemed like a similar environment.

8. What is your favorite thing to do in CrossFit?
– Olympic lifts 

9. What is your least favorite thing to do in CrossFit?
– Assault bike- I flail like a wet noodle.

10. What is the number 1 thing you want to get better at?
– Push-ups and overall shoulder stability.

11. What is your favorite part about coming to CrossFit at Industrial Athletics?
When the bad decision music comes on and beast mode commences.
