Flavia Seola’s CrossFit journey is rooted in consistency, community, and finding joy in movement. What began in Brazil as a goal to get fit for her wedding has grown into a lasting commitment to staying active—no matter where life takes her. Now based in the U.S. and expecting her second child, Flavia continues to prioritize her health, even through busy work travel. For her, it’s not about chasing perfection—it’s about enjoying the journey, finding something you truly love, and leaning on the support of a strong community to stay motivated and connected.
Why is fitness important to you?Â
Fitness is what keeps my mind and body connected and in peace with each other. It is also what prepares both for the future years ahead.
What motivates you on the days you don’t feel like working out?Â
As a 6:15am member I repeat every single day: It will be better when I’m done. I know it sounds that I am coaching people, but there’s no regret of going, only the opposite. Also, at CrossFit we can pretty much adapt everything so while traveling for example, I only do my favorite movements. (I hope coach Jen endorses my answer lol)
How do you stay consistent during busy and stressful times?Â
I embrace myself and do my best. I try to rearrange meetings and overall errands but sometimes other priorities come up. I would say that my decision on attending morning classes was purely driven by my busy days.Â
What is your biggest obstacle you face in staying committed? Â
Organize my agenda and saying no to a few things.
How do you balance fitness with the rest of the things in your life (work, family, friends, etc)?Â
One of the main reasons why I decided to attend the morning classes was to make sure the rest of my life gets some balance. My workload is huge therefore in the afternoons I want to have some time off to recover, and be present with my family and friends.
What role does mental health play in your physical journey?Â
It is a huge pillar of everything I do and commit to myself. Body and brain needs to be aligned and when they are not I definitely look for help.Â
What role does diet and nutrition play in your fitness commitment?Â
Nutrition is the foundation of my fitness journey. I had to revisit this topic many times in my life as shared recently on our mental health monthly newsletter. When I made peace with food my performance got better so does my overall mood.
What advice would you give to someone struggling to stay committed to their fitness goals?Â
Enjoy the journey and find something that you really like to do. Social media tells us that it’s easy, that it is all about discipline, but the reality for normal people like us is very different. I also recommend sports groups because I believe that people connect with people. Typically when you are part of a group you have that belong feeling that may take you to the next level.Â
