Today we fight through a classic CrossFit benchmark WOD and also honor the mother of Jen and Kim Griener. Â On September 10, 2013, Jen and Kim’s mother, Barbara, died after a 3 year fight with cancer. Â She was 1 day shy of her 61st birthday. Â Barbara never fully understood why Jen and Kim loved CrossFit so much and why they would continue day after day suffering through hard workouts getting bumps, bruises, and hand tears. Â However, what was understood was the daily struggle and fight to get “better.” Â Whether that meant beating cancer or fighting hard to avoid Syndrome X. Â Jen and Kim have been away on vacation, so they asked me to move their annual celebration to today. Â They ask that everyone join them in honoring their mother and all who have fought cancer.
