We are closed today for the Holiday Hammer. This is the annual December CrossFit Competition at CrossFit Athletics. We always have a good showing at this competition and today is no exception. Matt, Rachel, Fireman Dave, and Adam will be representing IA today. Please make some time to come check it out. It usually starts around 8am and will finish around 4:30pm.

Our athlete of the month is a model member. He encourages others by motivating them to be their best self, without even realizing it. He is friendly, a team player, and was a dark horse during this year’s Open Competition. You can typically find him in the 6:15 or 7:15am classes crushing whatever workout is programmed that day.

Benchmarks for June. Every month we focus on two

Benchmarks for June.

Every month we focus on two heavy lifts, one cardio or gymnastics movement, a CrossFit girl workout and a hero workout.

This allows us to give focus to our programming for our classes. It also gives our athletes a chance to see if they’ve improved from the prior year or prior scores.

June looks to be packed with heavy lifts and lots of cardio. Good luck!

Progress isn’t made in your comfort zone.

Getting outside your comfort zone is needed to see improvement. It can be hard to do sometimes, but the IA coaches will always help by giving you that little push, in a safe way. Rebecca defaulted to a 0.5 pood for some kettlebell swings during a Saturday workout. They looked pretty easy so coach challenged her to the 0.75, giving her that little push she needed.
