If you’ve been around the gym for a while, you have likely seen someone participating in our Coach’s Corner Program. Often times, you will see members in the office talking with Matt about fitness or nutrition. You may also see individuals doing “extra work” around the gym during or between classes.
The Coach’s Corner is a one-on-one program designed to help our members meet their fitness goals . . . faster. To better illustrate what we can do through the Coach’s Corner and how much the program helps, we asked a few of our participants to give us a review. Here’s what they had to say:
“I started working with Matt in Coach’s Corner thinking we’d focus on gym performance and nutrition. I didn’t realize how much working with him one-on-one and thinking critically about my lifestyle and goals would impact all elements of my life. Matt challenged me to think beyond just the hour (plus some) I spend at the gym and incorporate Crossfit principles into my day to day through writing assignments and conversation.

“The coaching corner keeps me accountable and focused on improvement. I have enjoyed my sessions because it gives me the opportunity to talk about my areas that I want to get better at and then I am given a plan that helps me get there. I am improving my pullups because of the extra work that Matt gives me to do after class that I typically would not have done. Before the Coach’s Corner I didn’t realize how bad my eating habits were. Having the opportunity to focus a goal on nutrition has helped me to make better choices in what I am eating. I enjoy the weekly email checkins from Matt and the app that helps me to keep track of my workouts and track my progress. I have seen a difference in my progress in the past few months since I have been working with Matt and enjoy the extra support and encouragement.”
“Coach’s Corner can be that missing piece to the puzzle! I believe there are goals that each one of us as athletes in CrossFit have, whether that is to lose weight, become more active, gain strength, or even link reps of double-unders. That is why we all show up 3-4, sometimes 5-6, days a week. Although CrossFit “specializes” in not specializing, with its constantly varied functional movement at high intensity, some will find they need extra work to achieve a more directed goal. Coach’s Corner has been that puzzle piece for me. Through one on one sessions, Coach Matt has structured a program that has enabled me to test myself, as well as, advance my strength and overall fitness level. Whatever your goal is, the one on one attention will put a spotlight on you and what you are willing to do to achieve it. The work and results are highly rewarding.”
One-on-one meetings are scheduled around your availability to meet with Matt and the first session is Free. During that session, we sit down and talk about what you help to achieve through CrossFit and through the Coach’s Corner Program. From there, we start to design you an individualized program and give you homework from day 1.
