We will have a regular schedule today.
Today, we celebrate the birthday of one of our morning members, Jack Maddigan. At the request of his son, Jake, we are honoring a fallen soldier by the same name: “Jack.” In CrossFit, we honor those who have fallen through workouts. These workouts are meant to be hard to mimic the struggle of our military and first responders. Sometimes they include workout elements that the individual loved when his/she was alive.
Army Staff Sgt. Jack M. Martin III, 26, of Bethany, OK, assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Fort Lewis, WA, died September 29th, 2009, in Jolo Island, Philippines, from the detonation of an improvised explosive device.
Martin is survived by his wife Ashley Martin, his parents Jack and Cheryl Martin, and siblings Abe, Mandi, Amber and Abi.
Happy Birthday Jack, don’t forget your burpees!
