Jenn Quimby is our January Committed Club Honoree, and her dedication is hard to miss. Whether she’s showing up for morning classes or tackling HYROX, Jenn consistently puts in the work with intention. A self-proclaimed fan of running, she balances that love by staying committed to strength training to build muscle and keep herself healthy and resilient. Even after rotator cuff surgery, Jenn didn’t disappear—she found ways to stay consistent, safely hitting as many classes as she could while still keeping up with her running. Her consistency, smart approach to training, and refusal to let setbacks slow her down make her a perfect example of what the Committed Club is all about.

Why is fitness important to you?

It helps me maintain a healthy lifestyle. With a hectic schedule I know I am more successful in all aspects of my life when I prioritize fitness and healthy choices.

What motivates you on the days you don’t feel like working out?

The caring and accountable IA community. If I miss a class, I know someone will ask me where I was. My wife is an ultra marathon runner who is very motivated which in turn helps me on those down days.

How do you stay consistent during busy and stressful times?

I have built IA classes into my daily  routine no matter how busy I am. Having a 5:15 am class time lets me get a workout in and in the office by 6:45 am.

What is your biggest obstacle you face in staying committed?

My travel schedule for work doesn’t allow for me to attend classes at times several days in a row. Staying committed to getting to the gym and choosing healthier options is importantly.

How do you balance fitness with the rest of the things in your life (work, family, friends, etc)?

Making it a priority. A majority of day is schedules either work or personal. Making choices that align with those goals.

What role does mental health play in your physical journey?

A positive mental health state keeps me motivated to stay on track with my fitness goals.

What role does diet and nutrition play in your fitness commitment?

Diet and nutrition are vital to maintain my fitness goals. I consistently track my nutrient over several periods of the year. I see improvement in my body and what I can do in the gym more during these times.

What advice would you give to someone struggling to stay committed to their fitness goals?

Stop the excuses. If you want to be successful you have to make it a priority and work it into your routine. Set yourself up for success through planning and execution. No one can do it for you.Â
