Amanda Pasquale’s story is one of return, resilience, and the kind of quiet drive that makes a community stronger. As our June Committed Club Honoree, she embodies what it looks like to come back with purpose. After a brief hiatus, Amanda didn’t just rejoin the rhythm of the gym—she stepped back in as if she’d never left, stacking PRs and showing up with the same steady determination she’s always been known for. Most evenings you’ll find her in the 5:30 p.m. class, often mixing in HYROX on Wednesdays, balancing her love for weightlifting with a willingness to take on any challenge that pushes her forward. Her consistency, versatility, and grounded work ethic make her a standout presence, and celebrating her dedication feels like the perfect way to kick off this month’s story.

Why is fitness important to you?

Fitness is important to me because it helps me look and feel my best, while also supporting my long-term health and longevity. It also feels great to be back in a class environment. I swam from a young age through college, so CrossFit brings back that team aspect of training and camaraderie, while still being an individual sport. That’s something I really missed.

What motivates you on the days you don’t feel like working out?

Honestly, one of the biggest motivators is knowing the rest of the class will ask where I’ve been if I miss. It also helps to remind myself that I’ll feel better once I go and get it done.

How do you stay consistent during busy and stressful times?

I try to make our normal evening class a non-negotiable part of the day and schedule everything else around it as best I can.

What is the biggest obstacle you face in staying committed?

If I take too much time off, I can definitely fall into a lazy streak, and that makes it harder to get back into a routine. For me, consistency is key—once I’m in the habit, it’s much easier to stay committed.

How do you balance fitness with the rest of the things in your life (work, family, friends, etc.)?

It actually balances pretty well because I’m able to get my workout in right after work. That makes it easier to plan everything else around the gym in the evenings or on weekends.

What role does mental health play in your physical journey?

Mental health isn’t the main driver of my fitness journey, but it definitely plays a role. My biggest focus is overall health and staying strong, but I do notice that I feel less anxious and more settled when I’m working out consistently.

What role does diet and nutrition play in your fitness commitment?

Nutrition plays a huge role. I know how to track, log macros, and structure my diet well—it’s the consistency with sticking to it that can be the hardest part. This time around, focusing on high protein and whole foods has made a big difference, especially in how strong I feel during training.

What advice would you give to someone struggling to stay committed to their fitness goals?

Take it day by day. The hardest part is usually just getting yourself through the door. Even if it’s not your best workout, you’ll almost always feel better for having shown up and moved your body.
