Traveling CrossFit WODs

kettlebells in sandAs the summer months approach, our members start to travel more for work and vacations.  Just because you go out of town, and can’t make it to Industrial Athletics for your CrossFit WOD, doesn’t mean you can’t get in a good workout.  We are asked almost once a month for workout ideas to use with minimal to no equipment.

Sometimes, our members luck out and stay in a hotel with a great fitness center full of free weights. Sometimes, there is a CrossFit box close enough to the hotel to make the trek.  More often than not, our members are faced with a treadmill and not much else. As such, we have compiled a list of our favorite resources.  No need to reinvent the wheel, there are a TON of traveling CrossFit WOD resources our there.

Our Favorite Traveling CrossFit WOD’s

  1. Comprehensive List of Travel CrossFit WODs – This that may be the most comprehensive list of bodyweight WODs we have every seen. Print it out and take it with you next time you are on the road.
  2. http://www.thetravelingwod.com/ – This website is completely dedicated to working out on-the-go and provides a new WOD daily.
  3. No Excuse CrossFit List:  http://www.noexcusescrossfit.com/2009/12/02/travel-wods/ – Some additional great workout ideas that you can keep on hand.

Give it all a look, print what you need, you have no excuses now. If we know in advance, we have no problem providing some quick and easy WODs to get your heart rate pumping.  We have even asked members to send us pictures of their hotel gyms so we can give them 3-4 days worth of programming.

Happy and healthy traveling!

Hi – I noticed you linked to the old “the traveling WOD” page.

That page has gone offline and doesn’t look to be coming back. I recently created a replacement tool – the Home & Travel WOD Generator.

    It can be found at:
    https://fitatmidlife.com/travelwod

It will randomly choose from hundreds of home and travel friendly WODs – no equipment needed, and it’s got a built in timing function for Tabata, AMRAP, EMOM, or for time. It’s a free tool, nothing to install or download, and I think your members may find it useful. It works on any smartphone, tablet, Windows, or Mac – but there’s no app to download or install.

This Travel WOD generator is free, and will always be free – no ads, no pop-ups, no annoying ask for an email address.

If you think this would be of use for your members, would you consider adding it to this blog post , or maybe in any “resources” pages you may have? This is also a great option for when the weather prevents your members from getting to the gym.

    Thanks,
    Tim
