CrossFit Alloy Wod for 10/8/2014 and Olympic Lifting

By October 7, 20144 Comments

Dan Grant is a member of ours who attends primarily the noon class.  His wife owns a cooking school, Gaynor’s School of Cooking, on the south side of Pittsburgh.  She takes small groups and teaches them how to cook.  We were talking with Gaynor a few weeks ago and thought this would be a GREAT idea for our Industrial Athletics community.  Here is how it works:

We pick a night to go.  We submit our menu.  When we get there, we divide into smaller groups and start cooking.  The school provides everything for us, equipment, utensils, cookware, ingredients, etc.  We all learn how to cook a full meal and then we sit down to eat as a group.  The school provides wine while we eat, but if we want extra drinks while we cook, we have to bring them.

The entire night costs $75/person, a price we think is comparable to a nice meal at a nice restaurant and we learn new skills, get to spend time together, and build our friendships.  She can accommodate 18 of us at one time and she wants us to come on Saturday, November 1st.  We will be putting out a sign up sheet soon. We will be running this event similar to our t-shirt orders, you will need to sign up and pay before November 1st to reserve your spot.
